On a recent trip to NYC a good friend introduced me to the latest trend in libation creations. They are called "Pickle Backs", a daring concoction popping up at some of Brooklyn's hippest hangouts. What it is exactly is a shot of whiskey followed swiftly by a shot of pickle brine. The pickle brine helps to neutralize the intensity of the whiskey and the salt in the pickle juice helps to retain water therefore lessening the severity of your hangover.
